PRIME LOCATIONS ON KAISERSTUHL AND TUNIBERG

///

Blessed with sunshine, we cultivate first-class vineyards on both the Kaiserstuhl and the Tuniberg. Vineyards require intensive care throughout the year to ensure the grapes reach the necessary ripeness and that the full potential of the vineyard is captured in the bottle. In the cellar, time and tranquility are paramount, consistently and without unnecessary fuss.

Guiding our winery into the next generation is both a challenge and a great joy.

hand in hand

with nature

We cultivate our vineyards naturally, without the use of any herbicides, and with meticulous handwork. This results in grapes of incredible quality, which are then crafted into authentic, fully fermented wines with exceptional aromatic depth. Each wine is allowed to develop its own unique character. Working hand in hand with nature.

Terroirs

The Kaiserstuhl, a small but high mountain range of volcanic origin, and the neighboring Tuniberg, a limestone hill, are the home of our wines. Here, in an almost Mediterranean climate and thanks to the minerality of the terroir, rich and straightforward wines are produced. Our winery owns the best vineyard sites on the Tuniberg and Kaiserstuhl.

In the vineyard, we let nature take its course. Hand-harvesting and gentle vinification result in authentic wines with their own distinct character. Differences between vineyard sites and vintages are consciously emphasized. In the cellar, both white and red grapes are carefully aged dry in stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels, or amphorae. Complete fermentation and vineyard-specific aging preserve the wine's natural character.

Burgundy varieties have a long tradition on the Tuniberg and Kaiserstuhl. And for good reason. Our climate offers them the best conditions to thrive. We love the Burgundy family and its unique diversity. We find Merlot, Chardonnay, Muscat, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Müller-Thurgau no less fascinating. Each one presents its own special challenge in the vineyard.

RESERVE. Small vineyard plots with old vines in the particularly exposed selection sites of Merdinger Bühl, Achkarrer Schlossberg and Niederrimsinger Rotgrund offer ideal conditions. Subsequent aging on the lees in wooden barrels results in exclusive wines, with yields reduced to 4000 liters per hectare.

SELECTION. The name says it all: a fine selection from vineyard sites with an already established reputation for quality. What are they called? Merdinger Bühl, Achkarrer Schlossberg, Niederrimsinger Rotgrund. To fully develop their aromas, they are aged in oak barrels.

Estate wine. The grapes for these regional specialties are aged in both wooden and stainless steel barrels. This results in wines that meet strict standards and offer a good introduction to the region.
